Well!  That was quite a storm we had!  It's been busy on the farm ever since, but all the animals and humans made it through just fine. It's actually really nice to have some warmer nights recently when the water doesn't freeze!

Winter is a time of quiet and reflection.  While things aren't exactly quiet for me, I have been reflecting on our accomplishments from 2015. We have really grown! ChiknEGG's commissary kitchen is being used by over a dozen food entrepreneurs.  Our sister non-profit, RVAg, Inc., secured it's 501(c)(3) status and has been steadily evolving, with both farmers markets gaining ground and producing strong sales, as well as garnering impressive community support. My own consulting business has grown a lot this past year, with several projects completed and several new ones just starting.  My volunteer work as a board member with the Goochland Chamber of Commerce has finished, but my new position as Vice-Chair of the Goochland Economic Development Authority is ramping up.  In addition, my work as Treasurer for the Virginia Farmers Market Association is also ramping up, as we move toward securing the organization's coveted 501(c)(3) status and pursue funding to grow our initiatives statewide.  As my passion for food and farming has grown over the years, it has become apparent to me that we need a major revamp of our website(s) to fully capture the work we do and the services we offer.  So, we're starting that process next week!  I'm very excited to announce that we'll be working with the tremendously talented Dyanne Joyner of Impact Rich Life to do the work!  Look for some really exciting changes in our organization and some really cool programs at the markets and in the kitchen!

See you at the market, or in the kitchen!
