It's Marketeers Club Day at ChiknEGG's My Manakin Market on Saturday, September 28th, 2014
Look for our young
farmers and entrepreneurs!
Come join Sarah Smith or Amy Taylor this year at the picnic tables on Saturday where kids will be MAKING BUNNY EARS!  We have a free kid's activity every week at the market, so kids - come back often and bring your friends!

Saturday is our Marketeers Club Day, and we have some very special kids participating! Marketeer Club vendors are kids aged 6-16 who have grown or made the products they bring to market. We certainly hope you will support these young farmers and entrepreneurs by purchasing products from them. Look for the Marketeer Club Vendor sign at their booth!  If you are interested in participating in our Marketeers Club, please contact us!

Gerry Laverty is playing ChiknEGG's My Manakin Market, Saturday, September 28th, 2014
Folk Singer and Songwriter
Gerry Laverty
Returning to our market this week is our good friend, local Songwriter/Musician Gerry Laverty.  Influenced by The Great Folk Scare of the '60's, Gerry received early encouragement by way of a tape of songs sent to fabled Columbia Records producer, John Hammond, Sr. Styled with acoustic guitar, harmonica and occasional mandolin, his songs reflect the travails of the lone wanderer, spiritual images and rail against social injustice.  To book Gerry for your next party or gig, contact him via his ReverbNation page.  If you know of a band or solo artist who would like to play at the market, please email us or call us @ 804-314-9141.

We are collecting donated food each week at the markets through our Gleaning Program for our good friends at the Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services. We will be collecting food products that vendors may end up discarding at the end of each market day. In addition, customers will have the opportunity to purchase products, or bring canned or dried food products, for the GFCFS's Food Pantry for donation to needy families and/or bring items in need. How about purchasing an extra dozen eggs for our hungry neighbors for donation? We will be collecting these items weekly at the ChiknEGG booth. And don't forget, we accept SNAP (formerly know as food stamps)! Tell your friends!
