Furry Friends, Opening Days and Tapas

Come visit Hooked on Alpacas!
Hooked on Alpacas will be vending once again at the Powhatan Festival of Fiber on Saturday, April 30th. At this day long festival we celebrate and share appreciation of the many fiber animals, fiber farmers and fiber artisans of the county and surrounding region. There are Vendors, Delicious Food, Fiber Animals, Demonstrations, Hands-On Fiber Crafts, Door Prizes and MORE! Come visit the Hooked on Alpacas booth to check out our beautiful alpaca yarn, hand-woven rugs and scarves, wet-felted alpaca sheets, colorful rug yarn, weaving sticks and peg looms. Lisa will be doing weaving demonstration throughout the day. Click HERE for more information.

Mark your calendars - Manakin Market opens on Saturday, May 7th!  Look for next week's email for the scoop on all the haps for Opening Day!

Up to date information on both farmers markets can be found on RVAg's new website!

Do you know of a farmer or artisan who would be interested in vending this year at either Manakin Market and/or the Goochland Fairground Farmers Market? We also have several Art Activité Days scheduled at Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery (calling local artisans)! Please share this link for our online application, and have folks contact us if they have any questions.

I'm crunching time trying to get all the last minute prep done for this week's fiber festival and the opening of our farmers market season. We have so many cool things going on behind the scene at both ChiknEGG and RVAg, as well as Hooked on Alpacas.  I hope you will come out and support us next Tuesday at the opening day for the Goochland Fairground Farmers Market.  We have about a dozen vendors this year...lots of new ones and many returning friends.  What a great selection!  Can't wait to fill my plate with all that great local food! Please come visit me at the fiber festival if you get a chance this weekend.  The weather is perfect and it's a great place to bring the kids!

See you at the market, or in the kitchen!
