MUSIC AT THE MARKET
 |
| Market Favorite Wayne Ruotolo |
A fixture in the Richmond area, Wayne Ruotolo has performed his mix of acoustic, folk rock for many years. By drawing on an extensive song list that encompasses over four decades of rock, pop, folk and country, he is able to crisscross multi-generational audiences with ease. A singer/songwriter, he also has a sizable collection of original songs comprised of everyday life narratives and poetic ballads. Wayne Ruotolo's first exposure to a Richmond audience was at the Cock & Bull in Richmond's Northside opening for Page Wilson. As an English major at the Virginia Commonwealth University, he began to explore the possibility of a career in music. Throughout the eighties and early nineties, he played at many colleges and universities in Virginia. After receiving his Bachelor of Art he concentrated his efforts on music full time. To book Wayne for your next party or special occasion,
message him on Facebook or call him @ (804)240-6908. If you know of a band or solo artist who would like to play at the market, please
email us or call us @ 804-314-9141.
GLEANING PROGRAM
 |
| Go Glean with Us! |
So far this season,
we have collected 21lbs. of food through our Gleaning Program for our good friends at the
Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services. We will be collecting food products that vendors may end up discarding at the end of each market day. In addition, customers will have the opportunity to purchase products for the
GFCFS's Food Pantry for donation to needy families and/or bring items in need. This week the Food Pantry needs: Canned Fruit, Cereal, Peanut Butter, Canned Tuna & Vienna Sausages. We will be collecting these items weekly at the
ChiknEGG booth. And don't forget, we accept SNAP (formerly know as food stamps)! Tell your friends!
We have live music every week, cooking demonstrations, chef's demos, regular children's activities and lots of other fun activities for the whole family. Kids can join our Marketeers Club and join our vendors to sell what they have grown or made themselves, or join our Club Sprouts to try new farm fresh foods for rewards!
Contact ChiknEGG for more information on our children's activities.
