Everything is growing!  Maybe you don't notice, but roots are going down, down, down in the ground...spreading far and wide.  Pretty soon, the sun will spread its light and warmth on new leaf growth and brand new buds will spring forth.  Is there anything so beautiful?  I love Spring!  But now, it's time to hunker down and get stuff done.  Have you ordered your seeds yet?  I like our local seed company, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange.  I also like Baker's Creek Heirloom Seed Company.  OMG...their catalogs are both amazing!  I finally got all of my alpaca fleece cleaned (thanks to my awesome husband) this past weekend, and I'm off to the fiber mill in Asheville, North Carolina for a little road trip with some Alpaca buddies.  Can I tell you how good it felt to get all of that fiber out of my garage? Looking forward to some beautiful yarn and roving from my herd at the market this year!  Planning for this year's market is well underway, with the 2015 vendor application live on ChiknEGG's website.  A Farm-to-Table Fundraising Dinner is in the works, too!  The VA Biological Farming Conference is at the end of the month - by far my favorite farming conference!  The potluck lunch that kicks off the conference, provided by attendees, is worth the price of the registration!  I always learn something new, and it's fun to see old friends and make new ones.  I hope you'll consider coming this year, even if you're just a "foodie" or home gardener.  Look for me at the ChiknEGG booth!  Please make sure to share what you're planning on growing this year on ChiknEGG's Facebook page!
