Our Saturday market in Manakin is open for the season from May-October, 9am-1pm.  Our Wednesday market in Goochland Courthouse is open year-round from 3pm-7pm on the grounds of the Goochland Family YMCA.

We are currently accepting vendor applications for the following ChiknEGG markets:

  • My Manakin Market SEASONAL farmers market in Manakin (Open May-Oct.)
  • My Courthouse Market SEASONAL farmers market in Goochland Courthouse (Open May-Oct.)
  • Lickinghole Creek Rum Barrel Release & Pirate Party (July 12th - One-day event)
  • My Courthouse Market WINTER farmers market in Goochland Courtnouse (Oct.-April) will be accepting applications later in 2014.

SNAP IT UP - SNAP/EBT PROGRAM
Both My Manakin Market and My Courthouse Market gladly accept SNAP/EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).  SNAP can be used for foods for you and your household to eat, such as: breads and cereals; fruits and vegetables; meats, fish and poultry; and dairy products.  With our SNAP It Up™ program, SNAP/EBT customers can swipe their cards and receive DOUBLE DOLLARS! The money comes from generous donations from companies, organizations and people like YOU!  If you would like to contribute to this special fund right now, click on the Donate button below.  Or, you may contact ChiknEGG for additional details.  For information on applying for SNAP benefits, call 1-800-221-5689.                       
  
GLEANING PROGRAM
We are excited to announce our new Gleaning Program this year!  Our good friends at the Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services will be picking up food products that vendors may end up discarding at the end of each market day.  In addition, customers will have the opportunity to purchase products for the GFCFS's Food Pantry for donation to needy families.  If customers have other items that they would like to contribute to the GFCFS's Food Pantry, click on the preceding link and view a list of needed items.  We will be collecting these items weekly at the ChiknEGG booth.

ChiknEGG's farmers markets are managed by a privately held company, ChiknEGG Productions LLC; Lisa Dearden is the Market Manager.

At both our markets, we have a huge assortment of local foods from farmers all over Central Virginia this year.   You'll find LOTS of fresh seasonal produce, fresh and dried herbs, berries, pastured poultry, lamb, beef, pork, seafood, sausages, seafood, baked goods, cheeselocal wines, honey, candy, artisan crafts, soaps, fiber products, perennials & shrubs, and MORE! COME HUNGRY - we will have HOT, ready to eat prepared foods.  Come grab some food and sit a spell under the shade while you chow down in-between shopping spurts!  Over 50 high quality vendors!

CHEF'S DEMOS
Click Here to find out what The Local Agrarian will be cookin' up for special Chef's Demos at the market this season!  Included in the posts are recipes and a list of the vendors who supplied the food for the demo.  Um...smells so good!  Look for other Chef's Demos throughout the season, too!

CLUB SPROUTS
Kids - join our  Club Sprouts for children ages 4-11.  Children will receive a Club Sprouts Card to fill-out during the 2013 Market Season. The card will encourage kids to try new foods at the market, and will provide them with educational activities to complete during the week.  They will get regular rewards for participating in Club Sprouts and will receive a special reward at the end of the season.

MARKETEERS CLUB
Join Our Club Sprouts!
Our Marketeers Club features children ages 6-16, who can sign up to be vendors at the market so they can sell what they have grown or made themselves on one of our monthly Marketeers Club dates.  Download the Rules for Participation HERE.
