Lots going on at the Market to celebrate the Harvest Moon!  Get your Fall harvest produce, stock up on meat and poultry, get all your fall shrubs and perennials, and start your holiday shopping with our craft vendors!  As always, we have LOTS of fresh seasonal produce, fresh and dried herbs, berries, meats, baked goods, cheese, cereals, hydroponic lettuces and micro greens, local wines (no winery this weekend due to the Bluegrass Festival), honey, candy, artisan crafts, candles, soaps, fiber products, fresh-cut flowers, plants, and MORE! COME HUNGRY - we will have HOT, ready to eat prepared breakfast and lunch for your culinary pleasure, courtesy of The Local Agrarian and Piedmont Smokehouse. Come grab breakfast or lunch and sit a spell under the shade while you chow down in-between shopping spurts!

Beth Hopkins returns to the market this week to do a fun fall activity with our kids.  They will be making colorful leaf rubbings, so stop by the picnic table area and hang out with the kids while you grab a bite to eat and listen to some cool tunes!

MARKETEERS CLUB
Make sure to look for our young farmers and entrepreneurs this Saturday.  They have lots of handmade and homegrown goodies and gifts for you!  If you are interested in joining the market as a Marketeer (you must be 6-16), please contact our Special Events Coordinator, Beth Hopkins, for details.  Look for this sign at participating Marketeers member's booths!

COOKING DEMONSTRATION
Have you missed your morning sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on Saturday Mornings cooked by your Local Agrarian? This Saturday Michele will once again be cooking up locally sourced, freshly prepared (by Nadolski's Butcher Shop) brekkie sausage with pasture raised fresh eggs on bread or plate (cheese optional) from 9-11. At 11:30 she will DEMO sweet potatoes and some kind of yummy Thai basil dressing, and maybe some cooked greens for a melt in your mouth treat for sample or purchase! While you're chowing down, check out information about the Big Green Egg locally from our sponsor - Outdoor Kitchen Creations!  Be sure to take home some of The Local Agrarian's custom spices and gluten free pizza crusts, too!

In Flux is a team of entertainers providing a variety of music, dance, and fitness services. The In Flux band, Adarah, is a duo consisting of Adam and Sarah Hamil. They play music including classic rock, country, contemporary, children's favorites, folk songs, and more. Using hand percussion, vocals, guitar, harmonica, and maybe even some accordion, Adarah is sure to be an experience to remember. Often, hula hoops for children and adults are available near the stage for free use during musical performance. Baby Saturday!
Our friend Betty McCracken from Monacan Soil and Water Conservation District will be helping our kids create Soil Babies and Soil Tubes to take home this week.  Betty makes learning really fun, and the kids will learn a lot about soil.  The Soil Babies are a lot of fun - kind of like a Chia pet!

A fixture in the Richmond area, Wayne Ruotolo has performed his mix of acoustic, folk rock for many years. By drawing on an extensive song list that encompasses over four decades of rock, pop, folk and country, he is able to crisscross multi-generational audiences with ease. A singer/songwriter, he also has a sizable collection of original songs comprised of everyday life narratives and poetic ballads. Wayne Ruotolo's first exposure to a Richmond audience was at the Cock & Bull in Richmond's Northside opening for Page Wilson. As an English major at the Virginia Commonwealth University, he began to explore the possibility of a career in music. Throughout the eighties and early nineties, he played at many colleges and universities in Virginia.
