The Rassawek Vineyards in Goochland County, is home to both the Wine Festival and Heritage Show.
The Heritage Show offers activities and demonstrations that are sure to please adventurers of any age. Take a ride on the steam train through the vineyard, listen to live acoustic music, check out the antique cars, explore a tree house unlike any other, enjoy fun activities for children, enter in the popular fishing derby, visit with the 4-H animals, sample local produce, baked goods and home-cooked food, watch artisans at work and learn about heritage traditions through a variety of cultural and agrarian demonstrations.
The Wine Festival features nine Virginia wineries, including Rassawek's own Byrd Cellars. Sample some of the region's best wine while strolling along one of the property's many lakes or while relaxing on the porch of the historic Cherokee Cabin. Enjoy hand-crafted chocolate and gourmet food, the perfect complement to any wine experience. You won't want to miss Virginia's most unusual wine tasting room- an original greenhouse from James Madison's Montpelier.
Visitors can purchase a combined ticket or a ticket to either the Festival or Heritage Show.
Admission Fee: Tickets Sales will begin in March - Wine Tastings Tickets $20 in advance $25 at gate - Non-Wine Tasting Tickets $10

A variety of activities are planned for all ages. children can enjoy face painting, coloring contests, and much more. There will be numerous exhibits and demonstrations (including a composting demonstration by ChiknEGG) occurring throughout the day, and lots of door prizes will be given away. “Farm School for Beginners”

This year, Virginia Association for Biological Farming is offering a stand-alone workshop prior to the Virginia Biological Farming Conference - Farm School for Beginners, that is designed to introduce aspiring farmers and ranchers to Whole Farm Planning. This all day workshop will feature resources and tools developed as part of the Virginia Beginning Farmer and Rancher Coalition Project curriculum. Several farmers will share their knowledge and expertise with their own farming endeavors. This year's VABF Farm School is sponsored by Farm Credit, the Experts in Rural Finance, and by Whole Foods Short Pump!
Workshop participants will travel by bus to the farm tour at Tricycle Gardens, Richmond's Premiere Urban Farm and Tricycle Gardens' Learning and Demonstration Site on Friday, February 10th, leaving from the Holiday Inn Koger Center at 8:00am and returning at 11:30am. This year, VABF is offering a stand-alone Pre-Conference - Starting a New Farm Enterprise, that is designed to appeal to beginning or aspiring farmers.
